OUR STORY

what exactly is Bric-a-Brac?

knickknacks…tchotchkes…trinkets…

By definition, Bric-a-Brac refers to “little objects without any purpose except decoration.”  These are often the items that are found sprinkled among bookshelves or strewn across a coffee table.

This “bric-a-brac” is our favorite part of the home…the finishing layer, if you will. Whether you are seeking bric-a-brac for a specific space or all of the furnishings, we’re here to help you finish your home.…

MEET MOLLY

Molly believes her unique career path has led her exactly where she was meant to be...at Bric-a-Brac, sharing inspiring home finds and designs...

Her creative experience goes back to a college internship in the fashion department of Cosmopolitan Magazine--where she can still recall the thrill of pulling items to be considered for the magazine's photo shoots. Her first role after college was in the advertising department at Harper's Bazaar Magazine. During her time there, she felt a pull to completely switch career paths and returned back to school to obtain her Masters in early childhood education. While teaching, Molly found herself delving into all things interiors in her free time, which led to helping family and friends with their own design projects. After a handful of fond teaching years later (and a few children), Molly made the decision to turn her passion for interiors into a career and thus spent 5 years working under Chicago-based interior designer Alexandra Kaehler. Her time under Alex was invaluable; truly an education in how the business of design operates.

After five years (and another child), Molly made the decision to open up shop and work for herself as owner of Molly Griggs Interiors. A few years working with clients (and a move to Charleston, SC), Molly had identified two key voids in the interior design market. First, the need for design services for those in the middle of the road--needing more than an item or two, but also not the furnishing of an entire home. The second void was that many homeowners know what they like and enjoy the design process. They want to decorate their homes, but simply do not know where to source items. Molly's hope is that in providing inspiring finds and curated room designs, homeowners will feel confident in creating a home they love.
